Here are the 10 feng shui tips to bring good luck and well-being!
1 – CLEAN AND TIDY
Cleaning and tidying the space around you is important, in fact, fundamental. Order present within us reflects your mental order, just like mess is indicative of a confused subconscious. Eliminate every type of clutter, whether this may be on your desk, table, bed and even in your wardrobe. Order stimulates positive energy and allows flow to move more liberally to bring about luck. |
2 – CREATE LIGHT
The presence of light in an environment is essential as it releases positive chi. Natural sunlight is best but in the absence of this, do not despair! You can create the right light in your living space by using lamps and placing them correctly, especially in the darkest areas of the house where energy stagnates more easily. However, excessively large and invasive lamps are not appropriate for bedrooms.
3 – SEPARATE ENVIRONMENTS
Separating the various environments, and thus activities, is necessary for the right energy. In spacious environments, this will turn out to be a very simply operation. If space is lacking (such as in one or two roomed flats), this advice will become more difficult in practice but it is not impossible. You can use dividers or even tall plants. When you sleep, close your bathroom door to cast away any type of negative energy which could come from that room.
4 – USE MIRRORS CORRECTLY
Mirrors have a very important property: to reflect light and therefore energy. To do this however, every mirror must be positioned correctly to not reflect negative energy. Placing a mirror at the entrance is positive as it prevents negative energy from entering. We do not recommend however placing mirrors in the bedroom (especially in front of the bed) as they could disturb sleep. Mirrors should also be avoided opposite the entrance.
5 – USE PLANTS AND WATER FOUNTAINS
The use of plants and water fountains is very healthy. Both elements in fact are able to transmit vital energy to the entire environment and to those who live there. When plants or flowers wither, it is good to remove them as one could obtain the opposite effect. Water can be inserted in the environment in the form of small fountains or aquariums with pictures and paintings.
6 – MEND WHAT IS BROKEN
For Feng Shui it is very important not to have broken objects or objects which do not work and even blunt corners should be fixed. If pipes are leaking, try to fix them as soon as possible as they are losing chi and, in general, stagnant water is never considered positive.
7 – FAVOUR REGULAR SHAPES
Feng Shui favours simplicity as harmony comes from this. This is why regular shapes are well accepted such as rectangles and squares whereas irregular shapes should be avoided. This concerns purely furniture and furnishing complements.
8 – OPEN THE WINDOWS TO RE-CIRCULATE AIR
This, as well as being one of the most important Feng Shui tips, is also a good daily rule. It is crucial to change the air and let the stagnant air go out, especially after hours of sleep. We recommend you leave the windows open for at least twenty minutes a day to let positive chi enter and , in general, to circulate clean air into the environment.
9 – USE INCENSE OR CANDLES
Incense and candles have two abilities: to diffuse good energy and also to purify it. There are two elements in candles: fire and air, both able to transmit energy and harmony, balancing and resolving problems. The use of natural candles with essential oils is recommended. Incense also has the same properties.
10 – LIMIT THE USE OF ELECTRICAL OBJECTS
Electrical objects create electromagnetic fields which are harmful for the organism. It is good therefore not to have an excessive amount of objects of this type around, especially in bedrooms where there should be no TVs or equipment such as computers or telephones. The use of lamps should also be moderated as candles or soft lights are preferred.
